Recently, I have found a sudden appreciation for Jane Austen. Most people would scratch their heads in wonder at my unusually old fashioned choice. However, most people would be surprised with how relevant her works are, as well as the lessons that can be taken from it.

I only discovered these things when I started writing an online essay about how romantic relationships work in previous centuries. I always thought that Jane Austen books were good examples of how relationships work during that era, so I read a couple of them. While I cannot imagine myself not immersing myself completely when I fall in love like some of her characters, I do understand why people should check on their emotions before saying those three words.

Despite the differences of romance in Jane Austen's generation and in our modern times, there are things that still hold true. There is always hope that the right love will prevail, and that there is beauty in waiting. These values have long been fogotten in our culture of instant gratification, but I think that people during Austen's time were on to something when they regarded these virtues.

Now, that is something definitely worth finding out.
